Opera
Christoph Willibald Gluck
Orphée et Eurydice
12 Jul, 14 - 14 Jul, 14
Musical conductor: Thomas Hengelbrock
On this occasion, the great opera reformer goes back to the roots of the genre in order to tell the legend of Orpheus, which was the inspiration for Monteverdi's opera. The intensity and force of the music and songs inspired Pina Bausch, the great innovator in the world of dance, to create one of her finest works. The German artist was always in search of inspiration from the essential movements of dance to return to her roots, and shows the protagonists of this tragedy surrounded by the threads of destiny. Destiny leads the characters through a landscape in which dancers and the accompanying them work together in perfect harmony.
